Configuration Radius Server Userman Mikrotik RouterOS v7

Hello Everyone, in this tutorial I’ll discuss about configuration radius server on mikrotik routeros version 7. On the routeros v7, you can access userman configuration in winbox so it’s doesn’t need to configure on web based.

Here’s the topology are used on this tutorial :

 

First configuration the ip address on router core and server RAD :

Makesure you already to upload the user-manager package on the router radius server. reboot router after upload complete and you can see on the top menu for the User Manager configuration

On server Radius , configuration Radius client, address with localhost and secret with password you will need to use . then Accept radius incoming.

Configuration User Manager, klik Settings and enable the setting.

After that, on Routers menu, configuration radius client. add shared secret for the authentication radius client and address with ip address router radius client.

Then, Create new user Group fot new authentication method :

On Users menu, create new user for authentication, select group with the new group that was created before.

Select Profiles menu, Create new profile. on this example I was created with name 5M, Starts when -> select assigned and then you can specify the price of those profile

Next on user profiles, create new user profiles. select user and profile that was created before and then click Activate.

On Menu Limitations create new limitation profile for limitation speed connection users.

Activate The limitation on the Profile Limitations. add new profile and then select the profile and limitation that was created before

 

Now let’s configure on Router CORE. select on RADIUS Menu then create new radius server configuration. Select the address for the ip address of radius server and secret that was created on Routers user manager.  Select Incoming menu and enable accept for allow incoming connection.

After that, create new pool for automatic ip assigment when client connect the ppp.

On PPP create new Profiles :

Then, create new PPPoE Servers, select interface with interfaces connected client and default profile with the profile that was created before.

On PPP Secrets, select PPP Authentication&Accounting menu. Then enable Use Radius.

 

NOW move to the client. create new pppoe clien. in General menu select interfaces on ether1 that connected to the router CORE.  then move to the Dial Out menu.   fill in the username & password that was created on userman. then click apply and if the configuration success the status will become connected.

You can see on Status tab information about ppp service and dynamic ip address that obtained from ppp server.

This is status connection on PPP Server (Router CORE)
